There are moments in life that change everything, arriving unexpectedly and altering our lives in unimaginable ways. For me, one such moment came through an extraordinary out-of-body experience, a divine encounter that revealed a profound truth about my purpose. This transformation occurred during a period of overwhelming despair that began in 2019, when I was deliberately pursuing a deeper relationship with God, driven by a deep emotional depression that I had kept hidden from everyone around me. I was having relentless nightmares about the abuse I endured as a child, dreams so vivid and frequent that it felt like I was reliving it night after night. I pleaded with God to help me navigate my overwhelming feelings of sadness and despair To my friends, I appeared to be the life of the party, always ready for a good time. They saw someone happy and carefree, unaware that beneath the surface, I was battling a depression I could not seem to escape. Looking back now, I realize my constant socializing, partying, and drinking were attempts to hide the pain I was carrying, not only from others, but from myself as well. I appeared happy on the outside, but inside, I was so depressed I didn’t want to be here anymore. I used partying as a way to temporarily escape what I was feeling and quiet the panic and pain that would surface whenever I was alone with my thoughts. Eventually, I confided in a friend about the stress I was experiencing, though I didn’t fully reveal just how deeply depressed I truly was. That friend suggested looking into meditation. Although I was skeptical that something as simple as meditation could help me, I was desperate for relief and willing to try anything at that point. So I began practicing meditation, but I had trouble clearing my mind. Around that same time, my search for clarity intensified after a vivid dream involving my late cousin. In the dream, I was fully aware that she had already passed away, which made her presence feel deeply unsettling and confusing. The room around us was filled with people who seemed completely unaware of our interaction. I looked at her and asked, “How is it that I can see you?” She replied, “Because you have angel wings.” Confused by her response, I looked around the room and noticed that no one else, including my cousin, had angel wings. I asked her, “Why do I have angel wings and nobody else in here does?” Her response shook me, “Because you are going to pass away soon.” Fear immediately rushed over me. I asked, “How soon?” As she slowly began to fade away, she gently replied, “Now you are asking too many questions.” I woke up startled by the vividness and realism of the dream. I had never experienced anything like it before. To be consciously aware that she had passed away while still interacting with her, I knew instantly it was far beyond an ordinary dream. I thought to myself, am I going to die? Following that vivid dream, a profound sense of urgency took hold of me. Convinced that my time on earth might be coming to an end, I became relentless in my search for God. I spent the next year praying often, asking God into my life. Asking about life, death, and what happens after we leave this world. Believing was no longer enough for me, I wanted to know. During this intense period of searching, I began having spontaneous out-of-body experiences that completely reshaped my life. These experiences also brought significant relief from the depression I had been carrying for so long. What began as a desperate search for answers slowly became a path toward healing, inner peace, and renewed purpose. As I continued practicing meditation, I struggled to fully clear my mind. Wanting to improve, I searched online, “easier ways to meditate.” That was when I came across an article suggesting that meditation is often easier first thing in the morning, before checking your phone or becoming distracted by the outside world. I decided to try it the following morning, never imagining that such a simple decision would profoundly change my life forever. The next morning, I laid down to meditate before looking at my phone or doing anything else, just like the article suggested. At the time, I still didn’t fully understand how meditation could help with stress. I was skeptical that simply sitting in silence could make any real difference, but I was desperate for relief and willing to try anything. The way I meditate is probably different from how most people do it. Back then, I knew very little about meditation other than the idea that I was supposed to clear my mind. That was all I had to go on. As I closed my eyes and focused, I noticed something unusual. Deep within the darkness behind my eyelids, I could see shapes, colors, and swirls of light moving through the blackness. I didn’t understand what I was seeing, but I noticed that if I followed the movement of those lights and colors, it helped keep my mind focused and prevented random thoughts from taking over. I realized that whenever I wasn’t focused on something, my mind would quickly fill with intrusive thoughts and distractions, making it difficult to stay present. But by quietly observing the movement behind my eyelids, I found a way to clear my mind that worked naturally for me. Over time, this became my personal form of meditation, something I discovered on my own through practice. Shortly after beginning my meditation that morning, I suddenly started rolling off my bed and onto the floor. Confused, I wondered why I hadn’t stopped myself from falling. I decided to get up and climb back in bed, so I could continue meditating. But as I stood up, something immediately felt wrong. That was when I noticed my feet lifting off the ground, hovering just inches above my bedroom floor. A wave of shock rushed through me. I quickly turned toward my bed and froze. There, lying peacefully beneath me, was my physical body exactly where I had been meditating. Terror immediately set in. My first thought was that I had died. “This is it,” I thought to myself. “This is what my cousin was talking about in the dream. My time has come.” The realization overwhelmed me. But as I hovered there in my bedroom, something unexpected happened. The fear instantly dissolved, replaced by an overwhelming sense of peace and the unmistakable presence of God. Although I could not see God directly, my entire room became filled with an intensely brilliant white light. It was so radiant and powerful that I felt almost blinded by it. Yet within that light was a feeling unlike anything I had ever experienced before, a pure, all-encompassing love that completely surrounded me. I was somehow instantly given a sense of knowing I was just out of body, not dead, even though this had never happened before, at least not consciously. After feeling God’s presence, I moved to the foot of my bed and sat cross-legged, almost like a child eagerly waiting to hear a story. I was filled with anticipation, ready to ask the question that had been weighing so heavily on my heart. The dream with my cousin had stayed with me, and I needed to know the truth. Was it just a strange dream, or was it really a message? My voice filled with an urgency. “God! I’m so glad you’re here!” I need you to take me to my cousin Sabrina to ask her a question.” A deep, strong voice answered, carrying both strength and gentleness , “I cannot do that for you at this time.” I hesitated, searching for the right words, “But God, she visited me in a dream and I just want to know was that a real visit? Was that a message?” A loving, but bold, deep voice responded, “YESSS.” The S’s were drawn out as if holding onto that word, God’s voice had a subtle echo to it. Fear struck me again, bracing myself for what was to come next. I said, “So I am going to pass away soon?” God’s response was steady, unwavering, but soothing in a way that softened the fear, “Not to worry, your soon is not our soon, time does not exist here.” Although I was confused by this statement at the time, I said that it makes me feel a little better. I told God that I wanted to make sure to get my Will in order and I want to make sure I am living my life to the fullest. God responded as if stating the obvious, “You should be doing that anyway.” I sighed, realizing the truth in those words. “You’re right God.” Of course, I should be living my life to the fullest, I shouldn’t need the thought of death looming over me to remind me of that. Why did it take me wondering when my time would come to make me question whether I was truly living? God then spoke in a stern yet kind voice, “And I know about that appointment you have on Tuesday.” I froze, of course God knows. And yet, for some reason, it still caught me off guard. I instantly understood what was being referenced, the appointment I had set with the medium. I wasn’t sure why I was so surprised. God is all knowing. There was nothing hidden, nothing beyond reach. I lowered my gaze, feeling the weight in God’s voice. There was no anger, just a firm but gentle disapproval. I hesitated before asking, “Is that not okay, God?” “You should not be seeking the answer that you are seeking.” I didn’t need further explanation. God already knew what my question would be, I had planned to ask how much time I have left. A quiet understanding settled over me. “Okay, as soon as I go back to my body, I will cancel my appointment.” And in that moment, I felt it, God was pleased. I took a deep breath, gathering my thoughts before speaking again. “One more question God, when I pray, do you hear me?” “I hear all prayers, even the ones inside your head.” God continued, revealing that everytime I cry out in the shower, or speak on my long drives home, I am heard. Those were my deeply personal moments with God, and knowing that I was truly heard brought me an overwhelming sense of peace and clarity. I nodded, “Ok God, that’s all I needed to know. Thank you, I’m ready to go back now.” The moment I said those words, my eyes opened, and I was back in my bed. I couldn’t believe what had just happened. My whole body was tingling as if I had the chills, but much stronger. I felt them for quite a while upon waking up. I sat up in bed and started to cry and thanked God for visiting with me. But I couldn’t help but feel unworthy of such a profound visit. Why me? I thought. I then immediately canceled my appointment for that reading, without hesitation. Following that experience I decided to try meditation first thing each morning, to see what would happen. Then for seven days straight, every morning, I had an out of body experience. I continued having experiences often, each one revealed a new layer of understanding, which I share in much greater detail in my book. I still didn’t fully understand what was happening or why. So I began praying and asking God, “Why is this happening to me?” I knew there had to be a purpose. After my prayer, I closed my eyes to go to sleep. I woke up a few hours later and reiterated my prayer and closed my eyes to go back to sleep. I didn’t have my eyes closed for very long before I was rolling off my bed and floating beside it. I went through my wall to go outside, I stopped on my front lawn. I looked up at the sky and asked “God, show me what it is you want me to do with these experiences!” I started to see something falling from the sky, it was a book, it hit the ground right at my feet. The front of it was blank. I bent down to pick it up. As I flipped through the pages I noticed that every single page was blank. Confused and seeking answers, I said, “It’s blank!” Then I heard God’s voice, clear and unmistakable, speaking into my right ear, “Share it with the world!” I was stunned. Share it? With the world? The weight of those words hit me immediately. “Oh no, I can’t do that,” I said. “I’m not a writer and I’m too scared to do that God. What if they don’t believe me?” I resisted, trying to explain all the reasons I couldn’t possibly do what God was asking of me. “I've never written anything in my life,” I said, as if that would somehow change the command I had just received. But God reassured me, I have nothing to fear, to stay focused solely on my purpose, not what others might think. Even then, I still couldn’t see myself doing it. I didn’t feel capable. So instead of agreeing, I simply said, “God, take me back home.” The moment those words left me, I woke up in bed, as if I had been pulled back into my body in an instant, by simply just asking God to take me home. As my journey continued, each experience seemed to reveal another piece of why I was being led down this path. The next experience that revealed a deeper understanding to why this was happening to me was one I will never forget and the one that led me to do the work I am doing today. Each night I prayed, “God, what is my purpose?” Then I closed my eyes, and went to sleep. On this particular morning I said my prayer once more, then I closed my eyes to meditate to see if I could perhaps get an answer. Almost instantly, instead of rolling off my bed, I felt myself sit up out of bed. I moved down the hall, through my front door, and into my front yard once again. I was searching, seeking clarity, not just about the book, but about the full extent of what I was being called to do. When I reached my front yard and looked up at the sky, I asked, “God, what is my purpose?” Immediately upon asking that, I could see something falling from the sky again, as it came closer, I realized that it was a license plate. It dropped right at my feet. I bent down to pick it up. “It’s blank!” I said. Then I heard God’s voice speak to me again, "Flip it over.” I flipped it over, and there, bold and unmistakable, written in all capital letters, was a single word: “HEALER” I stared at it, mind racing. “I’m not a healer,” I thought. “What does that even mean?” Doubt flooded in, “I am not a healer, nor a writer! I can’t do this!” But even as the doubt settled in, something inside me knew I couldn't ignore what I had been shown. Reluctantly, I told God I would try to step into my purpose. But the fear of what others might think, overwhelmed me. I then asked God to take me back home and the moment I said that I was opening my eyes in bed. I woke up overwhelmed with what God had revealed to me. Confusion settled in as I tried to grasp the message God had just revealed to me. I continued having several more out-of-body experiences over the following months. Through these experiences, I learned that it was possible to meet your guardian angels. After seven days of praying to meet mine, on the seventh day, I got to meet one of my guides. We talked for quite some time that morning, and while I share the full experience in my upcoming book, there is one moment from our conversation I wanted to share. While speaking with my guide I became curious about his name. I asked, “What’s your name?” “Mitchell,” he answered. I repeated it back, letting out a small, surprised laugh. “Mitchell, that wasn’t the name I expected.” He smiled, his eyes holding a quiet amusement. “What is it you expected?” I shrugged, still grinning. “I don’t know. Something more exotic, I guess.” Worried that I may have offended him, I quickly said, “No offense.” But he chuckled and reassured me, “None taken.” I was relieved to see that he had a sense of humor and laughed along with me about my expectation of a more mystical sounding name. It was comforting to know that even in this spiritual realm, there was space for lightness and laughter. Then, as the laughter settled, he said, “When you go back to your body, look up the meaning of my name. There’s a message for you.” When we finished the rest of our conversation, I went back home. After gathering my thoughts and writing down everything Mitchell had revealed to me, the first thing I did was look up the meaning to his name. The first meaning that I found was “Gift from God.” My breath caught, I had chills all over my body. The second meaning I found was “Who is like God.” I was completely blown away. You can’t make this stuff up, I thought to myself. This is incredible! Then, I remembered my own reaction when he told me his name, the way I had laughed, expecting something more exotic. Now, I laughed again, but this time at myself. His name couldn’t have been more perfect. As my guardian angel, or as he called himself, my guide, “Gift from God” was as fitting as it could be. During our talk Mitchell had also revealed to me another part of my purpose, adding more resistance from me. Because what he said next sent a chill through me. “We are at war.” He paused for a moment, “The battle between the light and dark. The dark does not want you doing what you are doing because, one day, you will assist in this battle, through these experiences.” A knot formed in my stomach. “Oh no. I can’t do that. I don’t think I’m ready for something like that. That sounds… really scary.” He met my fear with reassurance. “There’s nothing to worry about. You will not be assisting until you’re ready.” How could I ever be ready for something like that I thought to myself. Even as an adult, I am scared of the dark. I was told to write a book, and that I was a healer. Although I was unsure of exactly what that meant, I felt deeply unworthy of both roles, convinced they were meant for someone far more important or qualified than I was. After that encounter with my guide, I felt overwhelmed by everything he had told me. The weight of it all was difficult to process, so I prayed and asked God for a break, time to reflect, absorb everything, and come to terms with what I was being called to do. After about a week of reflection and prayer, something within me shifted. Although I was still nervous and unsure, I decided I wanted to embrace whatever purpose God was leading me toward. So I prayed and told God I was ready, to lead the way, and I will follow. Shortly after that declaration to God, In one of my later out-of-body experiences, God revealed to me the process of energy work healing. I was shown that through prayer and divine intention, we can serve as vessels for healing light to flow to others in need. I was shown that by praying over someone and asking for God’s healing light, that energy could move through us and toward the person receiving it. In one of these experiences, I was guided to work with the chakras by identifying where dark, dense energy appeared to be concentrated, drawing that energy out, and allowing God’s healing light to flow to those areas. Afterward, the person experienced relief and began to feel better, showing me how clearly energetic blockages, or stagnant energy could support the body’s own God given ability to heal. As I continued researching and searching for answers, I eventually came across Reiki. The more I learned about it, the more I was surprised by how closely some aspects aligned with what God had already shown me during my out-of-body experiences. Wanting to better understand the practice and learn how to apply it responsibly, I eventually sought training and became certified. It was revealed to me that this ability was not unique to me, but a God-given gift within us all. As I began searching the Bible for answers about the healing works of Jesus, I discovered that Jesus himself had said, “Truly, truly I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to the father.” —- John 14;12 ESV Embracing this calling has allowed me to combine my passion for helping others with the guidance I feel I’ve received from God. Although I have faced judgment for this path, I remain committed to fulfilling what God has asked of me and stepping into my purpose with faith, love, and compassion. I am deeply grateful to God for the guidance and clarity I’ve received along this journey, which has helped me fully step into my purpose. I’ve had many more experiences over the last few years, far beyond what I’ve shared here. Some of them are difficult to share, but I feel they are important to share even if it helps just one person. When I asked God if I was truly meant to write this book, the response I received was, “As long as it serves a greater purpose.” I believe that greater purpose is helping others, whether through healing, understanding, or simply helping people realize that there is more to life than what we can physically see. Through these experiences, I’ve gained a much deeper awareness of what may exist beyond this physical world. At one point, parts of my belief system completely crumbled, and that was incredibly difficult to go through. Lifelong teachings no longer resonated with me in the same way, and new revelations began reshaping everything I thought I knew. Although that process was painful and unsettling at times, it ultimately led me into a deeper relationship with God and a greater understanding of spirituality. Looking back now, I realize this was exactly what I had been praying for before these experiences ever began. Although I never specifically asked for out-of-body experiences, I had been desperately seeking truth, understanding, and answers about life, death, and the afterlife because I truly believed my time on earth was coming to an end. In many ways, these experiences became the answer to those prayers. Through these extraordinary journeys, I’ve experienced far more than I ever could have imagined. I’ve had conversations with my late grandmother, my father, and others about the afterlife. I met another spirit guide of mine and experienced many more profound conversations and revelations with God that deeply shaped my understanding of what exists beyond this world. Most importantly, I’ve healed through these experiences in ways I never thought possible, including healing deep childhood wounds I once believed I would carry forever and led me into a deeper relationship with God than I ever thought possible. Through these experiences, I’ve been given glimpses into the afterlife that showed me our loved ones are still with us, that we are deeply loved, and that God hears us all. My hope in sharing this journey is that others may find healing, comfort, peace, and reassurance through my story. Whether it’s realizing their pain can be transformed, understanding they are never truly alone, or simply opening themselves to the possibility that there may be far more to existence than what we can see with our physical eyes. Although this path hasn’t always been easy, I’m grateful for where it has led me. What once began as fear of death, became the very thing that taught me how to truly live.
